Where do you shop for the things that you sprout. Grocery stores, box stores, & online, or even other...

Why, is it cost, is it quality, even a recommendation from a friend or group member...

What, is it the only place to find item _X_, was it item _X_ quantity your _X_ fids needed...

Anything imperative you may want to add or something I forgot to ask?

I just look for organic seeds by their names. I shop around... lately I've got some nice 5lb bags of sprouting seeds from Amazon and I get two big freezer containers and mix my batches up and write dates and amounts made on the whiteboard that's on the freezer so I get an average of how long x amount lasts.

I've shopped with sproutpeople.org, nuts.com

The only mix I dislike was from TOPs. A lot of the grains were prone to spoiling really quickly, I found. That never happened with stuff from sproutpeople or Nuts, or Amazon.

Sprout People!! I don't have access to cool grocery stores with stuff to sprout. Sprout People I've always had super good luck with and they have awesome mixes... Amber Waves of Grain is my favorite!

I find their seeds to be really fresh, and I can get singles not mixed (since they sprout at different times). I also plant some of mine and grow them for the birds to munch on.

When I can get to farm, I go CO-OP store, the best freshest seeds. Here in the city I buy organic seeds from grocery store. Good luck with sprouting, it doesn't work for me.

Cool! I've never heard of that place. I checked it out and the parrot mix looks interesting but they don't list all the ingredients. The Australian and African parrot mixes list them though. I'll keep that site bookmarked
They have great customer service, so you could email them.

I buy mine from sproutpeople. Their sprouts are always very high quality and they have a good selection.

I just ordered a bunch from them, including their Big Bird mix. I actually bought it for me! I share most of my sprouts with my birds, though, as long as they aren't onion or garlic. They seem to really like mung beans.

I use The Sprout House Organic seeds. I buy them on amazon and they've never failed me. Currently I have broccoli, alfalfa, rambo radish and mustard seeds. Neither me or my birds are big on sprouted beans and lentils so I stick to the smaller ones.

I stack the germination so I always have some kind of sprouts going. Most sprouts take 2-3 days or even a little more if you want those first little budding leaves. I also grow wheatgrass without soil. I want to venture into microgreens which are great for nutrients as well.

Well, normally I grow my own stuff. But last couple years here in Michigan, spring has been very late, this year's rains made it really bad.
I have at least two of every type of fruit tree. But again, this year's bad. The darn tiny black beetle explosion!! Ruining everything.
My wife's herb garden is growing really good this year though. So I have lots of herbs for the birds.
But typically I go to a local farmers market and stock up, freeze stuff, and go to health food stores for sprouts and beans.
I don't shop walmart... least not for anything bird wise. I literally hate that store.
Sure I spend a little more, but I like quality for my birds.

I started this thread because I've been looking into purchasing things online & in stores. My research has taken me to US, some Canada & a few European places. I'm posting as a quote to your list because one of the European places suggested Black eyed peas in a parrot mix. Thoughts?

Throwing this out there to all so speak away! Sorry for the delayed response.
