Hello!
I am new to this forum and would love some advice. I have two new Fife canaries. They are almost three months old. Siblings of unknown gender. I have had parakeets and cockatiels in the past but these are my first canaries. I will also say that I am already in love! I hope that they are the exception to the rule and that whatever their sex they continue to get along together, but I’m prepared if they don’t.
Ok, on to my question, I would love to know what other canary lovers feed their birds. I give them veggies and some fruit and I’m good with that. I’m looking specifically for what pellets and or seed to feed. Right now they are getting Dr. Harvey’s canary seed and Harrison’s pellets ( which they don’t like and I’m going through all the steps to try and get them to like it). Any advice would be welcomed! I want the best for my kids!

welcome when I had my canary I fed him a canary seed mixture that had small pellets in it ( sorry I don't remember the brand) I also fed him rodybush crumbles, herb salad , egg and veggies. He loved peas, i gave fruit but not a whole lot. They are so sweet always happy.

My canaries are in an aviary with other birds, they eat a mixture of seed for tropical birds, canary seed, mix for siskins, egg food, universal food, and lots of greens

Canaries are rather easy to care for they need not as much as parrots to be happy and healthy, but obviously the more you can care the better

What kind of cage did you set them up? I still see most canary’s or other smaller birds in small boxes. Which saddens me because canary’s like all other birds do benefit from room and space to fly do you have natural branches? Most canary problems i see are feet related. Because most people use standard, one sized perches. It is better to have perches (even more better to have natural branches) of different sizes so their feet get training
