I can hardly believe it! It feels like only yesterday she came home.
But, as of today, it has been one entire year since Kamara joined the hrafn flock! And, since her true birthdate is unknown, today we will also be celebrating her birthday!

She has come so incredibly far in such a short space of time. From the fearful, aggressive hedgehog who tore a hole through my finger, to the sweet-natured charmer who welcomes me every morning with a cheerful hello and a kiss from afar.

I could never begin to express how much she means to me, and the joy she brings to every moment.

I love you to the moon and back, my Mars Bar! Happy first Gotcha Day, and happy 11th Bird-day!

Today was a great day for Miss Mara!

Breakfast was a birdie cupcake with mashed banana and cinnamon 'icing', chop with all her favourite fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds, and a small cup of fresh-made juice. She loooooved it.

Since she's still hands-off and fearful of new situations I couldn't bring her out for a walk like I did for Taco, but she happily went into her oversized travel cage, and we basked in the sun in the front garden for a few hours with some almonds, while I read a book to her.

She got to listen to her favourite radio station and chew on her new toys after that, and then we capped off the day with some dinner, popcorn and a bunch of CAG videos on YouTube.

Then it was time for the bedtime ritual, and off to sleep!

A pretty awesome birthday, if I may say so!
