Edgar just recently learned "what" too. And he likes to repeat his name as well. So when he did something I didn't like I said:

Actually the word Pionus means "fat parrot". You are right in that they are stocky - the extra half wing beat when they fly gives them a very muscly chest.

We've always had carpet parrots here and the latest one has been Dobby. He announces DOBBY, DOBBY BOY, DOBBY GOOD BIRD as he waddles along.
