Urgent Late night rescue

Just got this guy a little bit ago, drove 30 miles, he has a head injury, broken right wing, is emaciated,,gave him subQ fluids, pain meds, baytril, cleaned and tended to his wounds,,he will be off to Liberty wildlife tomorrow. I will try to keep him stabilized during the night.

I really feel helpless when I find an injured bird.....I do what I can to restrain it safely and calmly in a quiet dark box and race it to the closest vet clinic. I’ve only had one (that I know of) recover enough to come home with me to live out it’s final days (very old wild galah). The others have either recovered and took off before I’ve been organised enough to contain them.

The wing I would worry about because his freedom will depend on his being able to fly but the head injury is equally worrisome. I hope he makes it - injured pigeons & doves are some of the saddest. Thank you for giving him a helping hand.
