So I drove back to jozi a few days ago. 14 hours. Num num loves the car.
Plan was to prepare the final move to Capetown for month end. Partner already packing.
One day back and I have been offered a two month contract in jozi.
Guess I'll take it and replan the move with extra cash.
Opened the nestbox and Cha Cha had 9 eggs in there in various states of disrepair.
I left her 2 to keep her busy for a while

And her mate Fingers, is literally rattling her chain.
The nest box is affixed to the cage securely with chain link.
One part of it is loose and makes a beautifully aggravating noise when he bangs it against the nestbox where Cha Cha is sitting in the dark. Imagining she's under attack.
The screams. The threats! The language I use in front of the baby!

Plucking update - Good news
All feathers completely restored. Carer sent cellphone pix, not good for upload here
So we've proved the answer to my plucking issue was to offer the birds more play opportunities
Carer agreed he had been leaving them longer in their HUUUUGE flights. He has now rectified this. More out of cage time in the aviairy
