I just watched this video and my umbrella said “Hello” when he heard them talking. So sad though, cockatoos are such amazing souls. It breaks my heart to see them like this.

Cockatoo s don't seem to do well in captivity.
They really don’t. Some are better than others, but as a whole they don’t. Most large parrots fit that description too, but maybe not to the extent of toos.

But they are profitable for the pet industry. So while it’s still legal to breed and sell them, I’m thankful there are some homes out there that can share their lives with a cockatoo since they wouldn’t know what to do in the wild being captive bred. Sadly there are less suitable homes than birds. Which is why the rescues are full of cockatoos :(

What a sweet little gang! I'll never be able to share my home with a 'too, but I just love them.

Hopefully all these cuties will have their forever homes soon!
