They are great flyers. Poi's are great technical flyers but Pionus are not far behind.
Akela is sure one of the best technical flyer I ever seen. And we train too, but that is more for fun, her skills she was born with. (and of course allowed to fly a lot as a baby helped too)

Parrotlets are really amazing acrobats too. Sometimes they are actually just falling with their wings folded closed. It is amazing!

The video below is horizontal flight. On descent I have seen mine hold their wings very closed to sort of fall.

Thanks all! Kobe is difficult to catch in photos as he usually flies so fast.

Loved that video, Natalie!! Very interesting. I have noticed that the down draft or side? draft is different for Kobe, Ollie and Bobbie, re papers and towels that get displaced on landing or take off. Ha yes, the goggles are so cute. Nice to see them using positive reinforcement re training.
