Someone gave me a finch in a cage and two male canaries in a cage, both cages had large nesting structures. Now I don't want to bred them, the question is do I need these nesting structures or can I take them out.
It all depends if they like each other. Were they kept together before you got them? If so then they should be ok. The bigger the cage the better. I started off with 4 cockbirds in a flight cage. I had to remove 2 who needed individual cages. But...2 are quite happy together. There is no hard and fast rule..just go with how they behave. A bit of bickering is normal over seed but its when they flatten and constantly chase when separation is needed.
