scratch his head while standing on a perch. It wasn't but a few scratches I got in before he jumped away tho.
I'm wanting to take him with me wherever I go including to the local market down the street on my mobility scooter. I bought an Aviator Harness but I'll never get that on him for some time yet. Maybe this summer when the weather is nicer.
We're working on it, slowly but surely...

He's always been deathly afraid of hands but we're working it.
I was also able to roll him over on his back to scratch his tummy a few weeks ago. That was another breakthrough.
He's coming along slowly but surely.

Baby steps, baby steps. You'll get there look at how long (close to a year and a half) I have been working with Riti the Kakariki and she's still afraid of hands. SHe will sometimes let me scritch her head IF she's in her cage...on her favorite perch and I move slower that a glacier...and after about 30 seconds it's "OPPS that all gotta go".

But you'll get there.

Again, last night at bedtime. I approached him with my finger and he dropped his head for me. He also went to bed on my command for the first time.
Of course he was bribed. Sunflower meats are his favorite treat. He would kill for these jewels if he could. I feed them thru the bars, one at a time. He'll get about a dozen then it's lights out and, 'Night Night'.
