I know parrots don't have the sensitivity that humans have but I wonder about my outdoor sparrows?

I bought a bunch of different flavors of suet for them and today I opened up a hot pepper flavor and went back in the house. All of a sudden, 5 minutes later 4 of them flew to the gutters of the house and took a sip of water:wideyed:

Are they ok eating that stuff or should I change the flavor?

Birds as a group evolved to be the natural dispersers for peppers so they can have peppers :) Many seed companies now add hot peppers to deter squirrels

Ahhh, thank you!

I just worry that maybe it's better to feed it to them in the summer, when there's more water available?
Do you think it's cruel without water or are they 100% ok?
Sorry to be such a worry wart. I just don't them being uncomfortable at all

I honestly think they just drank water because it was there. I don't know that it specifically increases thirst

I toss out the remainder of the parrot food when refilling. In it are dried chilies. All the seed eating birds go for them. So do the javelina, but that's another story.
