Okay, as a general rule I avoid light- up toys for my babies. I was perusing the toy aisle because my chances are few and seldom. The bird toys ended and the cat toys started.

There was a cat laser for chasing a lighted dot on sale. I saw it and wondered if my birds might like it. I can just imagine Daytona running after it.

Petco claims it's for birds, too, but I've learned that "For birds" doesn't always mean "Bird safe."

"Cat laser pointer toys feature lasers in the range of 1 to 5 milliwatts that are safe for human and animal eyes." according to petcube.com. I've also learned that "pet" and "animal" doesn't necessarily include birds.

Anyone with experience here?

It scares the crap out of them. Sends them into panic mode which "will" result in an accident.

That's what Shawna said.
I'm glad I didn't get one! My birds certainly don't need to be terrorized anymore than they already have been.
Thanks!
