I got my first budgie just a couple months ago (he's quite stubborn and shy.. I'm still working on taming him) so I'm pretty new to this whole thing. I noticed today that Mango (the budgie) has a dried clump of poop stuck near his tail feathers. It's not blocking his vent, it's just barely hanging near it. Mango is doing fine, though: his eyes are shiny, he's preening normally, he's just as active as he usually is, and he's eating. I heard this happens because of dehydration, so I think that might be the case.
Anyways, I read that to remove it you'd have to grab the budgie of course... but Mango isn't tame yet! And even though I can forcefully grab him it'd probably lose the little bit of trust he had. Is there any way I can help him without having to pick him up?
