Lucy's recheck

Lucy went to the vet yesterday to have her uric acid level retested. Vet tech called today to let me know that u.a. has improved again and is down to 9.5. Normal but still a bit on the high end so have to continue the allopurinol and then bring her back for retesting again in 2 months. She gets veggies daily and cherry juice added to those every other day as well as vetri-DMG every other day. She was getting the DMG daily but I have started to reduce her dosage of that.
I'm very happy that the u.a. level is continuing to decrease.

Do you do it full strength or dilute it in her water.

Wonder is ACV is not good for that as its acidic???

Rio is still a young man but Penny is middle aged...so want to have them both another least 20-30 years...if I am so lucky to spend it with them...

I use pure organic tart cherry juice not from concentrate and I only add a few drops to her mixed veggies. I get the juice at Sprouts.
I also give some to Spee on his veggies.

I baked some sweet potato wedges & Penny likes them...think those could use a few drops.

Dipped Pennys carrots, corn, apple slices & baked sweet potato wedges...
She loves the sweet potato baked not fond of the microwave!!!

We had corn muffin with coconut oil for breakfast...one left & tomorrow I'll add a but of organic tart cherry juice not from concentrate...

Uchtred was mad at me on Monday because I drank the rest of her cherry juice. I told her we would get more tomorrow but she has been stink eyeing me xD!

Yes, but I forgot to give it last two days. He hates the Avitech... I get very little into him. Maybe I can mix it with the cherry juice!

Worth giving mixing the Avitech with the cherry juice a try since he likes the cherry juice.

I soaked pellets in the cherry juice to see if Penny would eat them. She tried it but not really a fan but strangely she guarded that bowl & would hiss if I tried to remove it...She does not do that with any other food. I had to distract her with her fav treat to get the bowl...



then mashed it & added it to the corn muffin mixture & made 2 special birdy muffins...

That's great. BTW, Jaden likes to bowl, too. I used to give him a small ceramic dish for veggies but I broke it so I replaced that with a small transparent plastic bowl. I put some veggies in it and put it in his food dish and later on I found it on the bottom of the cage. Then I saw him rolling it around and throwing it.
It is now a toy for him although I try to remember to take it out when I am not at home to monitor him playing with it.

Me thinks Penny is spoiled just like most of our fids!! Sometimes (often actually) I think the fids eat better than we do!!!!! LOL

Birds in captivity lose alot of there natural lifeso justtrying to make at least eating as pleasureable as possible.
