Smaug and my crazy day

6:10 am Claudia comes in my bed saying "mama my eye hurts" lol and behold it is swollen shut! Luckily benedryl and ibuprofen seemed to take care of it but still didn't go to school because of it

All morning I have felt queasy but figured it was just girl problems. 10:30 am Claudia is holding Smaug our crested gecko and hands him to me, where he promptly poops on my shirt. I go to wipe it off with a paper towel and see WORMS IN IT!! I immediately start freaking out, scrape the poo into a baggie, throw away the shirt, and call Fritz's vet because she mentioned one of her techs specializes in herps.
I have us both wash hands, get Smaug in a box, and off we go to the vet 40 min away. About halfway there I have to pull over to throw up on the side of the highway! Pretty sure I have food poisoning from the fish I made last night
2 more stops and a fecal later Smaug has pinworms, but otherwise looks great and has a dewormer.
I am now home vegged out on the couch with a waste basket close by!
Good thing he's cute!

He is adorable by the way!! I have been wanting a crestie for months now but haven't been able to convince my husband. We have two leopard geckos.

And worms are luckily an easy fix, they didn't charge me an exam so it was just a fecal and the wormer at a whopping $22.

My food poisoning is from fish I made last night, just thinking of fish makes me nauseous lol but I'm definitely sticking to white bread and mint tea to keep things calm!

Hope you feel better soon! I find potatoes can be helpful to an upset stomach (you tend to learn these things with IBS) if you have them mashed or you pop them in the microwave to "bake" them Also saltines, sometimes if I feel really bad those are the only things I can keep in me.
