We bought a 4 month old Linnie names Pip yesterday! I am unsure of his gender. I included a tail shot. We are very excited!

Thank you! He had a nice spray bath near a palm tree and now he is chirping in his cage. Boy do they steal your heart fast! He was with a conure -the last of his clutch in a pet store.

Linnies are really fun birds. Any concerns?

Hi Lady Jane! I am actually going to go with the name Peepo like the children's book since he says that. I don't have any concerns really... I am blending Tropican (old diet) with Harrison's high potency ground up. He loves dunking the pellets first! He eats millet with us. The person who used to handfeed him in the pet store said he was used to getting onto a flat hand and she would carry him around in her pocket with her hand stroking him. I have tried that and it does seem to work. It is very different from how my pi's step up!

Please do some research on feeding the high potency to a tiny bird that is healthy. Both my breeder and avian vet told me the liver of a healthy budgie will eventually be compromised by the high potency. They don't need it. I am feeding the adult lifetime super fine with green label. Don't imagine a Linnie is much different. Love the name you chose. Any photos?

I suggest you ask your avian vet because your Linnie is very young and may need the HP for a while.

My plan was already to do the HP for around 6 weeks then switch over to lifetime as I am aware of the effects of HP on tiny birds. Thank you though! Lol my vets would not know that! Photos are at the beginning of this thread and I will keep adding more!

Congratulations!

I recently got a green Linnie as well, so its good to meet someone else with a fresh one too!

I actually considered Kiwi as a name for mine too ^_^ but ended up calling mine Cicero.

Peepo is very cute! This also gives me hope of getting Cicero to be more hand tame - at the moment mine loves people but not hands lol

Thank you guys! I love his big button eyes too! I am sure Cicero will come around with lots of positive interactions!

Thank you! It feels so slow sometimes but he is definitely more relaxed.
