That was what I was thinking to do with pillow case. It's hard to run with a bird cage.
Harness is a good idea. Baylee will be stressed along with the humans.

I know it's an afterthought, but what would you guys do after grabbing birds in pillow cases? Like what would you keep them in to prevent losing them?

If you can get a small disassembled bird cage, something designed for a finch or a "starter" budgie cage. Something that is packed flat and can be put in a backpack. It will give you something easier to carry when running and something stable when you get to a safe place.

The one I was thinking of sells on Amazon for $14.69 And is 12 x 9 x 15 assembled and comes flat packed. It's only use in my opinion would be emergency housing during a crisis.

ok so as many of you know my country is going through a warlike situation so today in my building there was security meeting where they said the next few days aré critical and we must be prepared with water, food, antibiotics..1st aid stuff... Í want to know what should i do to protect Baylee from:
Smoke
Lacrimogenes bomb (sp?)
Noise bombs
Fire
Gunshots (not the noise, i mean a wound) in Baylee it might kill her but i feel i need to be prepared! This people dont care if they hit an animal or a person... There was a dog called Cross that in order to make him shut up they shoot him a bullet that went into his eye socket and went out through the back of his head... Cross spent 6 days alive with an injury you would think will kill him inmediatly..he was euthanized after vet determined that he was brain dead.
God forbid such thing happen with Baylee... I want to take as much precautions as possible... I already have food, her water, her vitamines, her vetriDMG.
You are talking about smoke grenades, tear gas and possibly stun/concussion grenades (make a big noise and can stun/knock people out).

With the smoke - and I want other people to chime in too - possibly consider wrapping a wet cloth around her cage? I'm so sorry you are going through this, you're facing Hell in your own home country. For tear gas, this was what I found - Tear Gas Exposure Treatment and Side Effects

Change the wet cloth to a good quality towel that is soaking wet. From what I've seen, having water is the most important thing to have available to wash faces, eyes or anything else.
