Can You Tell - Murphy is Mad at Me

Murphy has been mad at me for a couple days now because I have been giving him a bath once per day as he has been in what seems like a constant state of molt. He has terrible pinnies on his head and I need to help him out because Mickey does not. He rubs his head just above the cere on perches until the skin is raw. I am trying to heal that. He fights me like a bear. Does not like to be touched very much. I took a photo of his mad and it shows.......................

He is just letting you know that he is uncomfortable and doesn't want to be touched right now. Once his feathers hve grown in his demeanor will change.
My Joey is always scolding me and sometimes he beak whips me.
Murphy is really cute.

Lucky he's not bigger, I was on the receiving end of that sort of look from Lurch a lot and have the scars to prove it when I wasn't fast enough.

I see the evil eye and all, but I still can't get over how cute he is.

Even though he be but little, he is fierce!

It's so important though that even with the "little guys" that they are still given the same respect as birds with larger beaks. You are clearly paying attention to his body language and respecting what he's telling you, but sometimes I'll be browsing youtube (like you do) and I'll see people trying to handle small birds in such as way that COMPLETELY disregards their body language. Even when the bird bites they keep ignoring the signs! Stuff like makes me so mad.

Maybe you should post of series of "the different moods of Murphy" or something like that. Not only would it be informative of budgie body language, but it would be so gosh darn cute!

That is one displeased budgie...and yet, Murphy still maintains that air of dignity all EBs have in abundance. It's just one trait they have that makes them so darn cute...
