Solomon keeps wearing out his music boxes. This is the newest one. He's thrilled with it.
This one has a few more things than the last one, and it lights up vividly!
Solomon can't leave it alone.

I'll have to make sure he plays safe, and that it's securely attached to the bars.

Mr. Solomon's on it. And I echo Sarah's comment. It would not be pretty here.

Where did you get that?

Doll used to give Mango children's toys but I've never attempted that.

This one I got at Walmart. It's a Bright Starts baby drum set.

You can set songs to each touch, or leave the drum sounds on. It has a pretty vivid light display while playing. It gets my Zon all wound up!

Here's a better photo of it. Solomon took the handle off, but the rest is doing fine. I wove stainless wire around it and attached it to the bars of his cage.

He is safe with inside toys, Chaos my macaw has to have toys wired outside the cage. He learns to get them to play by touching them through the bars.

I like that ,I'll have to try that one out, seems like a great toy for mental stimulus. Although I will keep my hopes up that it will last through the day, with my Toos! I :fingerscrossed:

Just make sure they can't get to the batteries.
That is why Chaos's music boxes are wired outside his cage, and I put them on the wall side.
My booger macaw will try and climb around outside to see if he can get them off. The wall pretty much stops him.
My Zon and my little Goffin are not too hard on toys like these.

You'll have to let us know if you do so.
Oh..and from trial and error, get a brand name. The cheaper generic ones I bought didn't last long, and the plastic was more brittle than brand name ones.
I think this one was about $16.00. lol I pay more for the wood my green buzzsaw goes through!

Cute! :D
Quack, my Timneh, has several kids' music toys that play songs. She will dance to them but she won't press the buttons herself. We play on the kitchen counter and I press the buttons for her.

Jasper had one similar to that one in the picture above. She liked it a lot, but banged it on the floor until it broke into pieces. With the two she has now, she just gives them a bump passing by.

That's a cool toy. I wouldn't have thought to buy something like that. So far other than wood toys he can chew, I can't get Zeus interested in toys. I made him a toy out of a plastic wiffle ball, wood, and stainless measuring spoons and the only time he messes with it is when he's mad he likes to hit them and make a wind chime effect. :bored: If anyone has any suggestions on toys for macaws, I would appreciate them. I may try one of these since it is totally different from any I've tried.

LOL This toy was too much for my Zon. The flashing lights were wild and he got so wound up.

I switched his with Chaos's music toy. Now all is good.

Chaos doesn't go into overload like Solomon the Zon does.

And there's always music playing in my house. :)
