I've always preferred larger breeds, have raised Afghan Hounds for many years, but things aren't the same any more, living in the suburbs' of Los Angles, they need to run, have to drive out so far to enjoy ,the traffic is horrible, I took in a abandoned German Shepherd Dog that was left to die on our block , she was starving, beat-up ,ears half chewed up from flies, front teeth knocked out.

I guess-estimated that she was between 7or 8 yrs. old , had her spayed, brought her back to health, she got to have her remaining 51/2 years in a loving home,. I named her Meadow, smart loyal dog, she passed away this February.

13 years is a good long life for a large breed.

I have a Yorkie named Jicky, he's so happy to have a little pal to play with now , Meadow was to Big I had to watch that she didn't accidently hurt him.

Thank you for taking in that GSD.

I have a Havanese and Yorkie mix. She is so much fun. I'm sure she would love another dog to play with but for now it will have to be the cat.
