I'm not exactly sure - the Scobes seems to have several things going on with his coloration. He looks a bit like Boo and Snerky (Australian cinnamon), but with some faint mottling, like he's a little pied. I believe his tummy has some blue as well. I'll have to take some pictures and see if Matt can't identify his mutation combo.

The foster children continue to flourish! Bonito no longer has a bare patch (he let his feathers grow in almost completely). Scoby still seems to pull at his feathers near his shoulder, but appears to be generally happy. Both refused to go back into their cages this morning. Here we go! (The top picture is the most recent - from Monday. The others are a week before that.)

And they look like they are really starting to thrive in your care.

As long as I can (I can provide care on a fairly long-term basis, however). But I do know someone who is interested in taking them (no sooner than 6 months due to living circumstances), so I've been teaching her bird care while she works on building a bond with them. She is actually looking to get them replacement cages soon.

It is a very fitting endearment for them! Thank you, I'm definitely trying to give them everything I can. It seems to be enough for now! They're such sweet, sweet birds.

Lol, the language of lovebirds indeed!

She's actually someone I already knew. I didn't expect her to be interested in adopting, but she really loves my birds and was excited at the idea of adopting these guys, especially once she met them. Soooo let the lovie slave training commence!

I used to call Nerd bird spud among other terms of endearment, he of course was a Maxi but it just seemed to fit along with his name variations. He would forget he could fly so Nerd always seemed to fit.

I've told her about AA, and I will encourage her to join once she adopts the babies. I agree! She had the chance to interact with a cockatiel and while she found him cute, she professed herself a lovie devotee.
