Just purchased a bag of Higgins Safflower Gold to try. Volkman, Kaylor, and Dr. Harvey's are also good brands I've used before.

I don't feed my Pumkin very many seeds and never give her sunflower seeds. She LOVES the Roudybush mini pellets, veggies and fruits (she prefers the dried over the raw but that's just her preference) and for a treat, she enjoys nutriberries.

Volkman Cockatiel No Sunflower, and Higgins Safflower Gold is what I use for seed.
I also use Lafeber's NutriBerries for treats, which all three of my guys adore.

cockatiels should not have just seeds either, they should have some pellets also, preferably natural colored. my 2 love their warm mash, grains, a little bit of crushed nuts, and veggies that are warm. that is their breakfast every morning.

Those are great suggestions. I think Abba is the freshest and probably healthiest mix I've ever seen.

I like to mix Goldenfeast or Golden Gourmet with Kaylor of Colorado Sweet Harvest.

I'm not really a fan of dyes in bird food.

My birdies don't seem to be a big fan of harrisons, should I mash them up and give it a try?

If you have a way to grind the pellets up into dust, you can mix about 50/50 with seeds then add enough water to make a very thick paste. You can then roll out your own "pellet balls" or "cakes" and feed these to your birds. Even if your birds don't like pellets, they'll still get a taste for them while they "forage" through the paste for their seeds! ;)

I just started feeding Nutri-berries but right now I'm crushing them so Jet doesn't toss them to the cage floor.

I got Buddy to go after nutriberries by hand-feeding them. As soon as she thought I wanted them, she started to eat them even if they weren't crushed. Now she takes them apart in about a minute.

Sweet Pearlies!

Volkman is good seed but I have been using Higgins seeds & there Intune pellets.
I'd go with the Higgins Safflower Gold for the seed for tiels but I buy the Mayan for my small conure. It has more varied ingredients but don't know if a tiel would eat them.
Safflower gold does have added pellets in it which Mayan Harvest Yucatan does not but I mix my own & buy the Intune separate.

DrFosterSmith does not sell the safflower Gold...odd!

Higgins InTune Natural Diet for Cockatiel/Conure

Both qualify for free shipping

Gosh I am trying to wait 10 days til credit cycle closes but that puts it so close to the xmas rush & don; treally want to wait tile January but guess I could as I have enough for almost 2 months.
Still last I wanted to order the seed was out of stock so can't wait til last minute but you can also try Petco. That's where I got the safflower gold & its about $9 for 3 lb but there Intune is higher priced.

They also have a Sunburst Gourmet blend for tiels $10.49 but it has peanuts & lists millet as firs ingred when safflower gold lists safflower.

For the tiel I'd go with the H Safflower Gold & I've tried all of these.

Petco has free shipping now too. I think tiels might like the millet more & I think it has more of it.

Goldenfeast australian blend is pretty good stuff. If you mix it with their garden blend (veggies), it's almost complete.

We just bought an american branded Abba 1600-C, its got some sunflower seeds inside instead of having it grounded up. Do you guys suggest we pull out some of the sunflower seeds as the cockatiels are LOVING THEM (too much)
