A lady I know has a young lovebird for sale. It is very cute! It is around 9 weeks old. Mine are a little older, around 3 months old. I am wondering if they might end up being able to live in one cage. I know at first they would have to be separate and all that.

Is three a crowd?

3 lovebirds in a cage = definite no.

I'm going to say no as well.

Lovebirds tend to be territorial, especially the females. Fights, injuries or worse would be a huge risk so it's better to keep them all separate in 3 cages and that way, you also can prevent any unwanted babies.

An odd number of parrots in a cage is usually a terrible idea. You'll always be left with one when the others pair off, and it will get picked on and potentially killed. Lovebirds are especially territorial, so I'm afraid it would not work out.

Yeah, I was thinking about teenage girls, and figured that was the rule with lovebirds, too.
