As people have said, you can't blame yourself. Horrible accidents sometimes happen, no matter what we do.

Focus on the wonderful life you gave Sprite in the time you had her, on the happy memories, as I'm sure she enjoyed each and everyday in your care.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. I waited to come back on until I was in a better frame of mind.

It was just a small vine ring, a part of a larger toy, that she got caught up in. In hind sight, I should have noticed the potential danger to such a small bird. I still feel incredibly guilty. I know there are no safe toys. If only I could have been here. I was only gone an hour.

Foley was quieter than normal for a couple days, but he's back to his normal crazy self already, pursuing his unrequited love for Coco.

I'm not so quick to recover. Fly high, sweet bird.
