Hi, I found Roary(rainbow lorikeet ) about 2 weeks ago being attacked by other birds and a dog on the way, I picked him up as he couldn't fly as I believe his wings and tail had been chopped, since then I have taken him home and we have become quite attached, last night I was patting him when I noticed a blister like bubble just above his wing, I am still learning about him , but I was wondering if anyone knew if this is an illness or what it is, he seems perfectly fine to touch and doesn't seem to bother him.

Welcome to the forum. Thank you for helping this bird. I'm afraid I don't know the answer to your question but I'm sure others will answer soon.

@Greycloud ? @Birdbabe ? @CallmeSweetie ?

Looks like an airsac injury, most times they can heal on they're own. A vet or very experienced person can relieve the pressure. Watch him, if no improvement in a few days to a week, then have him checked. Thank you for helping him!

Thankyou for responding, I have noticed it goes up and down in size sometimes i can't find anything there, so I am hoping it's not too bad..
But I love all animals and I could not leave him there, he has turned out to be rather friendly after spending alot of time with him.
Thanks guys:)

Thank you for helping him. Do you think he is a wild bird or maybe someone's pet?
I'm not sure where you are & if this type of bird is found in your area.
If its possible that he is a pet bird please do some research to help find his owner.

I hope he gets better.

Parramatta is in Australia, so they'd be very common where they are.

Hi, yes I did check the area for anyone that lost him, but he did not seem all that tame, and where he was there were large trees, so I was thinking he fell from the tree...
He is beginning to become quite attached, he is doing rather well, I am just curious about the air/blister like things. ..
Yes parramatta is in Sydney Australia. .
