Lots of little birds...cardinals that hatched last spring, sparrows, vireos, warblers, bluejays and one gorgeous redheaded woodpecker. Plus squirrels and unfortunately rats. At night a possum comes by to graze.

we have a heater for the water to keep it at 40F during cold nights. The cones keep the squirrels from climbing up.

You have made a very nice area for your local wildlife! Squirrels are very persistent when it comes to gathering food.

Lol Martine!
Erika it's a very sheltered and narrow part of the yard with trees and bushes overhanging, which probably discourages the hawks. So far no problem, fingers crossed!

Nice that you also feed the outside birds. I do the same. :)
Here in Sweden they need food every day, and not only in the winter.
we have a heater for the water to keep it at 40F during cold nights.
When it's freezing outside here I give them warm water twice a day. And they know the time well. They come for warm water like it's some good food.
And I guess warm water they can drink more of because it's not cooling them down like cold water does. I myself never drink cold water. It's not good.

That is so kind and thoughtful of you JT! Do Eloy and Akela do any wild bird watching?

Yes a lot. :) They love all small birds and our doves. And our doves are almost tame too. They come really close when I feed them. :)

That's so great! All the birds fly off when we go to refill, one squirrel calmly keeps munching.
Our feeders are not near the bird room. I think the little birds wouldn't scare mine either.
