I still maintain that fundamentally, the small Pois are very similar.
Differences, I think, have more to do with individual personalities, than species.
My Senegal is the sweetest bird ever, does very well with people and other birds. However, I worked hard early on to get her properly socialized and it paid off. Sennies can be known to be one person birds and I've heard/read of it happening. Shade's brother, Nemo, is rather exclusive in his love, and pretty much only likes my mom and myself...and will still bite my mom from time to time, if he doesn't get his way.
My two Red bellies - both do live up to clown reputation that follows RBs. Joey (male) is very much that way most of the time (other than when he's really tired). We adopted him when he was just shy of turning 3 years old. At the time, his owner was a man and the women in the house was not a fan of him, so Joey picked up on that and for a while, was definitively more comfortable with men than women. However, this is no longer the case (I guess I won him over) and he'll pretty much flirt with anyone. He also pretty good with the other birds. His sister, Pixel (whom I adopted when she was 5) while still a clown, is somewhat calculated in her ways. She's so-so with people other than me (I am her person). For no apparent reason, she hates Shade. May be a competition thing (other female bird), but when given the chance, will fly to Shade and attack her. So we now have separate time outs because of this.
The Meyers I have (both males) were both gotten through a rescue. The older one was set in his ways, adores men, any men, and hates women. My SO will bring some of his guy friends over from time to time and Petey will go see and flirt heavily with any of them. It's rather fun to watch. But I have to constantly keep a watch out so that he doesn't attack me. The younger one wasn't properly socialized so he took some work. Now, he's pretty confident in himself and will go to people - he'll be your best friend if you are willing to scratch his head.
