***Update***
I have not quite finished the project. I still need to paint the legs and frame. The thing is, I loathe painting with a fiery passion. So, the gym was assembled, sanded and ready and waiting for paint sitting in my shop....for the past couple of months. Being a little slow on the uptake it has taken me this time to realize that that....was a huge freaking waste!
I mean Ripley most certainly does not care about paint....and it's not as if paint actually needs to be applied to make the gym usable. My mind was officially blown upon this revelatory conclusion. 
I'm now left wondering how many of my other unfinished projects are wasting away.....when they could be used perfectly well as they are. 
I digress....

Looks great! Where did you get the wood? I'm researching how to make Tulip a DIY play stand too, but I don't know where to get the pieces.

@alcmene Some of it came from EWD......but if I were doing it over again I would get the manzanita from Manzanita Burlworks - The Source for Quality Handcrafted Manzanita Products.
I got the grape wood from Grapewood.
The Java piece was a tabletop stand that I picked up off craigslist.
ETA: EWD sells kits with all manzanita pieces that are predrilled and everything. You may look into those and see if they fit your criteria....or at least spur some creativity.
