Last year I decided to get a friend to Eloy (as some of you perhaps remember) and I order a female BH (we don't have Maxi breeder in Sweden) from a breeder in Sweden. But all turned out to be male after DNA was done and I decided to wait another year.
The same breeder have a Maxi pair but haven't had any success for many years to breed them.
But this year!!! :bliss:

Of course I thinking that the same thing can happen this year, so please, have your fingers crossed that we this year will have a female Maxi girl in September-October here.

I really wonder what Eloy would say to be getting a girlfriend. And a wild one. :wideyed:

That Maxi pair lives in a big outside aviary and are not tame. :wacky:

But they are very healthy.

Fingers crossed for you! I was looking for a maxi myself and they're tough to get hold of over here in the US as well. It's a shame, because they're such amazing birds.

The pair only have 3 babies and the DNA that was sent to South Africa has disappear. The breeder will send new one but this time to London.

How big is the chance that it is 3 male? :angel1:

for at least 2 female.
If it is more then one female I'm the first to chose which female I want. :yes4:

No DNA yet..

The one that was send to South Africa is still missing, but the new ones has arrived to London, but hasn't return yet.
Two of the three babies has beginning to leave the nest (they are not handfeed) for short times. So now the will learn to eat for themselves and the breeder is letting them go in 2-3 weeks. (or later if they don't eat well)

I have butterflies in my stomach (if you understand that) and this waiting is not good for me. :wacky:

I have already planned for a new Maxi to come here, and I tell Eloy that everyday too.

Sometimes it feels like he understand everything I say. I said to him, that he must be a gentle, kind and loving big boy now because the girl will come here, afraid of everything.
And Eloy has been the sweetest boy since then.

I think he understand, not because of the words, because he feel that I'm happy and have something big that includes him to look forward too.
