Pionus are the best birds if you prefer a calmer and quieter addition to your family. They are just so sweet. We have a White Cap and a Blue Head. Love them both. They have totally different sounds that they make. The WC sounds I can't explain but they are so precious lower frequency beeps and clucks. The BH has higher pitched squeaks. I adore them. Wish I could have a dozen but there is no way to give them enough attention! The two I have are so jealous of each other it's comical. Such smart and intuitive birds. They get jealous if I even cut my eyes over to the other one. Lol. It's like "no mommy, me, me, me, only me!"

Pionus are wonderful birds. If money, time, and space was not an issue I would have several.

How pretty! I had a WC Pionus rescue, who took over a year to warm up to me, although I worked with her daily. She turned into a velcro bird, and very sweet.
