Is it even possible to train a lovie to wear a harness?
Are most harnesses too bulky for such a small bird?
Can you make a harness that's safe for a lovie?

I want to teach my lovie, Percy, to wear a harness.
It'd be pretty fun to take him out places and i've decided i don't want to carry around a tiny travel cage.

I think I've heard other members say harnesses don't work so well for lovies - they're bulky, heavy, and tend to drive the lovies bonkers. But maybe someone has something that works that they can share.

Hmm, well, lovebirds are bigger than parrotlets, and I've seen at least one parrotlet on this board successfully harness trained. So I think it's possible, you just have to be really patient. Slowly introduce the harness, associate the harness with great fun time, lots of treat when it's harness time! But I think eventually you'll have to grab the bird to actually put him/her in so that may be a bit traumatizing.. so again, lots of treats in that situation I would imagine.
