So sorry to hear about this. But I can tell you that I have a cockatiel with 1 leg. She was found outside and ended up getting frostbite to her one leg and it had to be removed. This was about 5-6 years ago and you wouldn't even know she has one leg. She is amazing. The recovery period took a little while - I had to give her some time, eventually put some lower perches in the cage and she started to go higher up as time went on. I do have some flat platform perches in the cage now so she can rest but she's really great at getting around so I wouldn't worry about that
