Please do a search on this forum for past threads about Bird Tricks. Then, you will see why many people are against them.
They are sales people, first and foremost. There's actually a blog about how Dave Womach used a sales technique to buy an engagement ring! And hey, it worked!
Trainers and behaviorists such as Barbara Heidenreich, Lara Joseph, Hillary Hankey, Susan Friedman, Chris Shank, Jim McKendry, Pam Clark, etc... these people are not out to make a quick buck and they have studied behavior extensively. Sure, they may have services and products to sell, but they are not sales people. They don't take tried and true methods, change them, rename them, and then try and sell it to the public. They don't learn how to do new behaviors with their own birds, then turn around and teach the public how to do those same behaviors, yet charge 5x the amount!
