Bronze?

So, i was reserching and I can't seem to find if bronze is actually safe for birds.

I own my own parrot toys and If everything goes well I want to build some for selling (Chinese toys available here, nothing else). But in my state Its more likely impossible to find stainless steel. All you can get is bronze or galvanized stuff.

Does anyone know if bronze is safe for birds?

Thanks!

Bronze is a copper alloy and copper is not safe, so I would say bronze is not safe either.

Thank you, I suspected bronze wasn't safe, just couldn't find out why.

So, galvanized would be the safer? I know it can contain zinc, but how come 99% of parrot toys use galvanized hardware?

Galvanized most certainly is NOT safe! Those parrot toys that use galvanized hardware are responsible for a large portion of the zinc toxicity cases out there!

Use stainless steel or nickel plated if you can't get stainless steel.

Galvanized is the worst.

Probably many of those things that you think are galvanized are really nickel plated.

Anyone can order stainless parts online. That would be your best bet if you're making your own toys.

Yes, but I have to hire an importer, and he charges 45USD per kilo. And being steel heavy that would be insanely expensive, especially taking in mind 1USD is now around 12,5 Argentinean pesos. It varies though, a week back it was 15,5 :(
