Ok guys, please share you secrets when it comes to cleaning rope perches?

I use a rough-bristle brush and poop-off for the wood/grooming perches. But the rope perch is sporting an awful lot of wiped-off fruit-veggie debris lately...

Whats the secret?

I throw mine in the dishwasher without soap and let it get clean that way. Then let it sit overnight to dry

I wash them with just acrylic brush and some dawn dish soap under hot water.
I do it weekly, so there is not too much stuff to scrub off.

I've done both the bath tub and washing machine method - I like the bathtub if it really needs a good scrubbing and the washing machine if it's just dusty and needs to be freshened up. Vinegar and hot water really will take poop off of anything.

I will periodically put them in the washing machine using scent free detergent.

I wrap rope perches and boings with fleece strips. When they're dirty I simply unwrap, throw the dirty strips of fleece in the washing machine, and re-wrap the rope perches/boings with clean fleece strips!

Here's Joey on his boing wrapped with fleece strips

I tie mine in loose knots/twists and throw them in the washing machine with all my towels and such. :D

Ooh, I like that fleece-wrap idea, too. Since Joann's has a great deal of their fleece on clearance right now, its a great time to buy-up, too.

Luckily I *DO* have a groom-tub in our basement for our 4 dogs...it was a great gift last year from my build-savvy husband. That will be much better for soaking/poo removal than our own bathtub, LoL... I can only imagine the looks I'd get otherwise, hehe.

wooden perches i wash in hot water and little Dawn i rinse in the hottest water possible and rinse with little vineager and water too. because they remain wet for quite while, i put them in my oven at low 200 degree for about 5 minutes. take them out with oven mitt, let them cool for about 20 to 30 minutes.

I just throw them in the washing machine. I have one without an agitator. It works great!
