It was a few months ago that we lost our Pionus baby before we even got to bring him home. We had been visiting him 1-2 x's a week and I was already more attached to him than I realized. Losing him was devastating and there was a blue quaker that we were planning on bringing home at the same time but as we were not yet attached to the Quaker and I was not taking the loss of the pionus well, I decided against the Quaker at that time.

So, we are over the trauma of losing Avery and are ready to try again. In a few weeks we will be bringing home a sweet little blue and yellow English budgie.

(We, btw, is my 6 yr old son and I)

You will be just as attached to the EB. They do better in pairs.

Would we be able to keep them tame in pairs? This is a handfed baby.

if you get 2 hand fed babies they are just about tame when you get them. You are lucky to find any. My male EB died and I searched for another cage mate for the female you see in my signature. I got the male about 6 months before the female. That gave me a chance to tame him. I never found another male. Instead I got the linnie you see. When it comes to budgies more is better.
