so this pigeon fly's into the garage

Through the back door and sat on the cabinet, he is starving, dehydrated, and full of lice. Got sub Q fluids and treated for the lice, I will give more fluids and thinned down formula later, has half a tail with a small wound, will give antibiotics tonite. He's resting now, with fresh water and heat.

He made it through the nite, had a few poopies, and a lot of dead lice on the towel, at least that's gotta make him feel better. He's very weak. But he had formula and metrodizonale this morning, check on him when I get home from work.

He got a bath today to get the dead buggies out of his feathers. Not a happy boy...

He's feeling better, just stands there and stares at me...got a bit of slow crop, so I'm putting unsweetened applesauce in his formula. He's slowly gaining weight. Hopefully he will get to go soon...but he'll need to be able to eat on his own.

Coo to him, he'll fall in love with you puff out his crop further walk around with his head bobbing up and down and make romance moves on you. He's looking really good BB, he's nice and clean its amazing what a bath and some sweet time and effort from you can do for a bird.

I do, I'm a volunteer vet tech\ rescue transport at the wildlife rescue.

He looks like what I know as a rock pigeon or city pigeon Rock Pigeons (Columba livia) aka Feral or Domestic Pigeons

My garage pidge just passed, He had a small crop mass, smelled like canker, I got him too late, by the looks of his poo, and urates, it may have been in his liver too. We tried so hard, just too late with the meds, fly free once again little man.
