I was thinking it might be a female as the lighter part around the nostrils... I'll go back today to take a picture or two if it looks different or if it's still there...

It looks pinkish so could be a very young male but don't see youth bars on front of head in pics unless that's part of the mutation.

Wow quite an interesting mutation

Looks like a girl between 4 and 6 months of age to me.

in person looked more of a pinkish hue or a pink flesh color with some blue showing up, didn't see white anywhere. Looks like it does in the pictures but with some light grey lines on head across from the eye area, but the yellow above the cere is just yellow. I will lo again on Monday if it's still there.

Cute Crimson belly in your picture too, mine is named Peeka and is a male that talks a lot, playful and cuddly too.

I am going by the color of the cere (pink with a touch of lilac - I believe that males have it pink or white without any blue tinge), the white circles around the nares (only females have them), the eyes (all dark with no visible iris so under 6 months), and the recessed bars on the head (over four months).

Saw this same bird today at the store and it's currently getting its yellow feathers at the top of its head and molting, it's cere looked pink today with no white or lighter around it. So I giess it was younger than 4 months when I first saw it around dec 17th.

@Monica had some new info
Seems a pied & certain mutations budgies nares stay pink when older not turning blue.

So it could still have a pink nare be older & still be a male.
