This is haunting me. Maybe because I have amazons . . . . maybe because Marian was among some of the first people here on the avenue to reach out to a "clueless" soul who had jumped in with two blue front amazons without an ounce of knowledge of how to keep a parrot.

My heart hurts at the thought of losing one of my two guys and I've only had them a few years. Marian and Hiram were best buddies for years.

Marian I know there is nothing that I can physically do - but if you ever need someone to listen to you - I'm here.

I am so sorry for your loss our family just lost our baby girl due to a seizure my husband was holding her at the time. They have huge part of your heart so being in shock is normal. I wish I could just give you a huge hug and just cry together. Try thinking about all the great time you guys had. She is now your Angel watching over you and your family..

so sorry to hear this Marian ......... we lost our beloved B&G Macaw "Tica" just 3 weeks ago ....... she was only 18 , and we expected her to outlive us .......we just miss her so much........... Her little Scarlet sister "Jessica" misses her too ..... soooooo quiet in our house now...... can't believe the "hole" it leaves in your home ....... I know too well the hurt you're feeling ......
time will help, but we will never forget our departed feathered friends .....

Thank you everyone. I just went back and read all the comments. Life goes on...but it's been real hard without him here. So many kind people have reached out to me in so many ways. I donated Hiram's cage, play stands and toys to the second chance here on the island. All the sales from the store go back into the no kill shelter. As far as a new bird not sure what I will do next. I do know it will probably be a smaller birds. I've been checking into parrotlets, linnies and gcc. Nothing is set in stone. Just asking a lot of questions and reading about them all.
