For Emily, yesterday. They were flock calling her desperately for the last ten days, it was so sad. If i talked to them about her softly they would listen, but they called and called and called. They had been together their whole lives. They are back to their relatively quiet selves now.

My two went crazy when they saw a cake today they had two years ago, they always remember something or someone they love.

They may be quiet but they will never forget the memories of their best friend  (I really believe this)

That is sad. My quaker screamed for two weeks when my cockatiel, Aaron, died several years ago. My vet told me I should have shown her Aaron's body. She told me to show her a picture of Aaron which I did. I hung it by her cage for a while. She would sit there and stare at it. It's so hard dealing with your own grief over the loss of a pet and then you also have to deal with your pet's grief. I found it very difficult. Hope your doing o.k., Saroj.

Thank you guys so much for the comforting words. :hug8:
I'm doing well, I think of her often. :xflove:
Thank you for asking. Today Chickie was vocalizing like Emily and for a second there I thought it was Emily. I'll get a picture of her and place it on the wall.

Rocky was that way after we lost Tuffy. the hardest thing for me was watching him pineing away for Tuffy. he flock called for hours, refused to eat unless i was eating too. Their little hearts break when they lose a friend and campanion. i did show Rocky, Tuffy's body, it helped some but not totally. Mom had to step in and be his best friend and pal. :hug8:

My birds were very upset when my poodle passed away several years ago. They had a wonderful relationship with her. Some of them still call after her and when they hear me walking upstairs they say her name.

I think that's probably the hardest part over loosing feathered/furred family like that, watching the others grieve and there being so little you can really do for them.

Hugs for them and you, that your hearts all start to heal.

I understand how it is. Liam has calmed down and finally stopped saying "Zoe? Zoe?" to me as well.

:hug8: I agree with the others that posted - it is so hard seeing another pet grieve over a lost one while trying to deal with your own. :(
