Hello, so my lovie is still two months old but I'm observing changes that I am concerned about. I will just list them here and it would be great if anyone could give me answers/suggestions!:)

1) my bird has been pooping fine (urates, urine and feces clearly defined) but for about a week now the urate and the urine come out mixed! It looks milky. And I'm not sure if it's because of the milky coat, but the feces now looks pea green (it was dark green previously. It eats both oellets and seeds but likes seeds more). And I was alarmed two days ago when I first saw light-yellow urine!! I haven't seen it again thus far but could it be liver disease..?? I'm really worried><

2) I've been wanting to ask this for a long time but my birdie has black spots on the blue part leading to the tail and I'm wondering what that is?? I will post the picture really soon!

3) last one. These few days, I am convinced that my birdie wants to bite my flesh off!! It's starting to bite really hard. I have been okay with previous bitings since it was just moderately painful but this is getting a little out of hand... could it be angry with something?? I have never seen lovebirds bite its fellow birdie friends that hard so I'm thinking there must be sonething wrong?

Sorry for the long long post but I'm really just new to this^^;; thanks a lot in advance!

this is the picture for my second concern! It was already there when I got the birdie when it was 4 weeks old. Will it disappear with molting or does it reflect any health complications?

Congrats on your new lovie!!

1 - If it looks funny to you and isn't his norm, then don't hesitate to take him to an avian vet.

2 - The feathers look as if they have been rubbed a little. Babies are sometimes rough on their feathers. His other feathers look pretty good though.

3 - It is totally normal for a lovie to be biting and nibbling. He is testing everything out right now! Just to give you a heads up, this could get worse; especially when he gets around 6 months old. That is the time for hormones but it will pass after a few months. Keep redirecting him calmly and give plenty for him to chew on. Watch his body language also. If he is puffed up and spreading his tail feathers and making a fuss while biting then he is probably upset about something. If he is calmly nibbling and being curious, then it is all normal.

Thanks Alyssa! There's no avian vet anywhere near where I live, unfortunately:( Many vets around but they all don't seem to specialize in avian health the last few times I went sigh:/ Just in case it's an infection, I started adding Echinacea solution to his water! I wonder if it will help at all??
And I started sprouting his seeds too, since he doesn't seem to like his pellets that much heheh. Hopefully that will help with feathers when it moults:D
Thanks again for the clear reply!^^

Where do you live as we may know someone in your area. Don't add things to his water as he may not drink as he should. Believe it or not, there are some vets that will do a consult over the phone with another vet and that may be something worth looking into.

Thanks for your concern!!:) I have moved to Singapore (small city-island)! It's quite surprising that they don't have avian specialists:(
I have been adding three drops of echinacea solution per cup of water to his water and he drinks it fine:) I'm slowly going to increase it over the next week. Not sure if it's helping though:/
