@Lady Jane I'm still praying for him. Is he getting any probiotics or vitamins to boost his immune system to help him fight it?

Dr. said pro biotics are not needed because he is not on antibiotics, he is on antifungals. I have been supporting his immune system with herbal medicine such as Thyme and Dandelion. He is eating the herb salad well. Also giving him Dr. Harvey's supplement. It is called WFS plus. Natural Food Treats and Supplements for Birds - Dr. Harvey's At the end stage of yeast the bird can no longer absorb nutrients and they begin to loose weight and energy. It is called wasting away. It is at that point that I view him as suffering and will then end his precious little life. What would you do? What else can I do? :shy:

Probiotics would still potentially be beneficial, as it's the good bacteria that help to keep the bad bacteria and fungi in check. If the bird has low good bacteria, that could potentially lead to a bacterial and/or fungal infection. Although, it could probably vary depending upon the bird's system.

Really hoping he pulls through!

@Lady Jane I did some research and found that if the Nyastin proves resistant your avian vet can prescribe Fluconazole. Also, how are you administering the Nyastin? They said if the medication has to be supplied directly to the yeast or it won't work. Also, hopefully you can get some probiotics. Make sure they have no sugar. One I've tried is Avi-Culture 2 but I couldn't get the p'lets to take it.

There are different probiotics out there, in gel and powder form. I don't know which one is best! Or if it matters! Sorry about that!

Just sounds silly to say that probiotics may not be beneficial when in fact they could be!

Racha I think the next step may be to mix the diflucon with amphotercin B. I am giving the ampho and sustain together by beak in one syringe. So the sustain will contact the yeast directly. I read that anise is an anti fungal as well as tyyme and dandelion. Anyone know about anise? NisI. I will check inroads culture. Thanks much my friends
