Mercedez, this one is going to be hard, I'm not sure if it can be saved or not. I'll do my best, and I'm sure some of our other members will also give it a try.

Not just dark but a lot of noise/graininess in photo. Can lighten it up easily but also need to remove the noise. I'm assuming this was taken in low light/no flash. BTW, cute baby.

I use PS, too, although right now it resides on my nonworking computer so I've been using Lightroom and a few open source programs for editing. I've been remiss in not installing on new computer (actually almost a year old) and not fixing my older computer.

I also have lightroom, but mine is almost one of the first they put out! I use it at times, but I don't do RAW very often and find PS suits most of my needs.

Mercedez, here's what I came up with. Parrotdise is correct in that the noise is a problem, and I'm just not that good with removing noise and keeping any real sharpness.

Hoping others give it a try.

I don't think it's fixable but I was really mad the color on my phone went wacko for this picture.

See I'm an artiste too. I made changes with and old, old Canon photo processor. Concentration on making the piece of paper as white as I could.

It is, thank you. Would you be able to color correct the left side tan markings to match the right side; her eyebrow and chest patch.

I think yours looks better than mine. Mine is brighter but more washed out. Your's looks more natural.

I'm not sure what your editing program is, but if you do use photoshop, 'shadows/highlights' adjustment works wonders for over and under lit photos. I like that you cropped closer, I never even though of that.
