Curious if anyone has had to use medication for their dogs seasonal allergies, if so what do you use? Every year around this time my daughter's mini aussie has fits with itching, etc. This year seems to be the worst. The vet said to try Benadryl, Chlorpheniramine, or Zyrtec. We've tried Benadry and Zyrtec and no luck yet, going to try Chlorpeniramine next.

One of our dogs is allergic to grass. It is so bad he gets hives. We give him Benadryl and it does the trick. Try the gel caps, they're supposed to work faster.
Can you do zyrtec daily with benadryl for a flare up?

She finally seems to be doing better. I guess whatever she was allergic to is not as bad now. I think either the Chlorpeniramine I gave to two days broke the cycle or the grass/weed, or tree pollen got better.

You can always ask the vet for a stronger antihistamine if nothing OTC works.
