Red-belly eating habits

I'm posting this here since my red-bellies are the only birds I have that do this. I was wondering if anyone else's red-bellies reach into the bowl backwards (not even looking at what they are picking up) or forwards with one foot, grab a foot-ful of food, look at it, pick out what they want to eat and then drop the rest.
Have a few red-bellies that do this whereas the others just pick up food directly with their beaks and then transfer it to their feet for holding as needed.

That's exactly what they do. Makes me laugh, too. BUT what a waste of food.

My RBs always look at their food.

My Senegal used to pick up food with her foot and throw it all over the place while looking directly at me if she thought I wasn't paying enough attention to her

Yes! Ziya doesn't do it all that often, but she does do it sometimes. It's hilarious.

My Red Belly Female is a lot like you describe, and my Meyers is a total slob, he just takes a few bites and then flings the rest.
