This was a seriously dangerous bite that is as close to being fatal as I ever hope to get near. I think my eye is scratched underneath.

Birds really have a fascination with eyes it seems. Got popped in the eye by pidgeon I rescued and we were raising. Luckily he didn't take it out and he was lucky to survive as well
Been bit on the nose, ears, neck, lips, etc. I guess we parrot people want to be close to our fids and sometimes this is the price we pay. Very lucky everything seems intact and ok. Hope you have a handle on what could have set him off and heal ok.

I couldn't understand at first why Rika (sun) tore out the eyes on the piñata (monkey) first , then his butt to remove the pine nuts. But then I realized she was disabling a possible threat/predator. And I also in the past had a mad quaker attempt to race up my arm and the bottom of my face ----I had no doubt he was heading for my eyes. (He hasn't done it for a least a year.)

The eyes are a window to the soul.

The eye feels better now. It's ok. Looks worse than it is.

The scenario:
The wife came home while we were in the kitchen having bird supper. She could only stay for about 15 minutes as she was already late to go somewhere else. She held him and fed him some supper.

When she left he knew she was going and I had to take him from her. That's fine we've done it a million times. He hops onto the t stick and we all go for a shower. I hold the stick at arms length because I know he's pissed she's leaving and he only got 10 minutes.

We walk to the shower. I stop and turn my head to ask my wife something, forgetting to keep the stick at arms length until we are out of her sight. I turned back and wham.
