wow very gorgeous!! I almost got one of these but decided on a B&G instead! Very cool!
I researched blue throats for a few years. It was mostly reading about them online and speaking to breeders as they are not common locally.Did you research before you got him, or did you just happen across the BTM and got it?
That is a nice toy. Is it a tough rubber?
Matt
Oh, Gypsy loves this one. It is so versatile. Sometimes I put nuts in - pecans and almonds and sometimes whole macadamias which keep her occupied for ages trying to get them out . I also sometimes use nuts and shredded paper and other times weave branches of rosemary, coriander and parsley through the holes too. I throw it in the dishwasher to give it a good clean. We have the second and third one. It's also fun to just stick one almond in this JWP31021 JW Pet Nut Case for Birds - FORAGING TOYS Cracks me up to watch Zoe stick her tongue out as far as it can go to get it.
Matt, It was really great to see Michael, he is gorgeous. Interesting that his face is so fully feathered compared to Gypsy's. I love how they blush! My friends are all really impressed when Gypsy blushes. I wonder why they do that?
Yes, it is wonderful and interesting! I know Gypsy blushes when she is anxious/excited (as do I) :x3:. I wondered what, if any, purpose it might serve in the wild? Is it a way for potential mates to signal they are interested in each other maybe?
They blush for many of the same reasons we do...it is wonderful
