Hi
I have been on rather a long hiatus from AA. I checked in once every 5 months or so but missed the sad news about Anne. In fact, she (dear angel heart) was the last Roadie I occasionally emailed or messaged. What a loss.
I left AA as I was dealing with work issues, the failing health of my brother in law, and the struggle to deal with my Mom's deterioration from long term dementia.
Well. I am now on a medical leave due to my fatal fish allergy (I work in a food store), my brother in law lost his battle with diabetes/kidney transplant side effects/ cancer, and after many difficult months of at home (and visiting hospice) care, my Mom passed away two weeks ago.
With all the human problems and losses , my flock stayed healthy and happy , and kept my Dad (now 89) and I, busy and sane(or relatively).
The flock consists of Maxie , cockatiel (perpetually in quarantine with drug resistant giardia), Dusty, (very) male cockatiel, diva sun conure and princess, (Pap)Rika, and my talkative quaker, Cricket.
I look forward to reading about old friends, making new ones, and catching up on all the birdie stories and photos.
PS I hope I can navigate updated AA---nice job
