Good day all.

I have a neat idea I'd like to bounce around.
I want to make an aviary topper for my vivarium. I was thinking of a canary. Something that can live solitary.

My vivarium is a decent size. it already measures 18"D x 24"W area. I was thinking about a 3 foot topper. Realistically just throwing legs underneath my light hood and mesh it all in. The vivarium is almost half land and half water, and deepest water is 5-6 inches.

Any Suggestions??

Any standing water more than a couple of inches deep is a real hazard to a bird. Also, have you considered how messy a bid can be? They throw food everywhere and poop a lot. How will you adequately clean up after it?

Just curious. It sounds cool but I'm not sure if it's realistically plausible.

The vivarium is too small for a bird and keeping it sanitary and having clean air.

You'd have to have a vivarium the size of a room, so the feces of a canary wouldnt be affect the vivarium life and you'd easily be able to keep it clean and with fresh air too.
