Last night at about 8pm I went through to check on the little birds and they were sleepy but of course got up to beg for some food and were doing well. This morning when I went through to check on them one of them had passed away
He was in an awkward position and didn't look like he had just 'slipped on' in his sleep during the night. I was so shocked and absolutely stumped as to what could have caused it. When I came through later to check on the remaining little baby, he hopped towards me, then suddenly seemed to stop and bend his head toward his tummy, as though he was preening his chest, put his wings out, and fell over, stretching his little legs out in the exact same position I had found the other baby. I carefully picked him up and held him, thinking he was dying. He convulsed, and then lay still, and I thought it was over for him
then he opened his tiny little eyes, looked up at me, and started begging for food!
I'm stumped as to what is causing the fits, and wondering if maybe it is something genetic, due to both of them suddenly having them? I have the little chap on heat, he is a bit weak but still responsive when I come near the cage
